Overview

The University of Tokyo Graduate School of Frontier Sciences International Liaison Office has invited the application for the Summer Internship program 2021, UTSIP Kashiwa, initiated by the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences in 2013, provides a hands-on research internship program in the departments of Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Studies, Information Technology, International Studies, Materials Sciences, Advanced Energy, Ocean Science, Physics and Sustainability Science Studies.

Eligibility

The following candidates can apply for this summer internship 2021,

The undergraduate program at an overseas college
Participants who are considering matriculating to graduate-level study at the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences or other graduate schools at The University of Tokyo, or elsewhere in Japan
Participants are required to participate in all activities including classes, laboratory work, and special events organized by UTSIP.

John Hopkins online course on Surveillance Systems

The date to apply for this internship is February 1 (Monday), 2021 by 17:00 Japan time

Stipend

Tokyo provides a UTSIP scholarship and accommodation to participants.UTSIP scholarship amount: JPY 110,000

Schedule

Feb 1, 17:00	:	Application Submission Deadline
Mar 1 to 4	:	Receive notification of selection result
Mar 11	:	Deadline for submitting a confirmation of participation
late Mar	:	Receive official UTSIP acceptance letter
April 1	:	Check the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan’s update on border enforcement measures for countries on entry restrictions and activity restrictions after entry. Start preparations to go to Japan (get air tickets etc.)
late April	:	Apply for a short stay visa (If necessary)
mid-May	:	Submit health certificate
June 6	:	Arrive in Japan and check into the designated accommodation
June 7	:	Start of UTSIP Kashiwa 2021
