Overview

Citadel Securities engineers work in small teams to turn ideas into high-performing, resilient technology — with short development cycles that put work into production quickly. You’ll create system architectures, develop platforms, and build web frameworks using state-of-the-art tools and techniques including distributed computing, NLP, and machine learning.

The 11-week internship pairs you with senior engineers on real impact work, plus peer networking and social events. Mentorship is a core part of the program (many mentors were former interns).

Key Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, or related fields.
• Skills: Exceptional programming and design skills; strong analytics and familiarity with probability and statistics; clear communication in collaborative, highly technical teams.
• Mindset: Intellectual curiosity and passion for solving hard problems with technology.
• What you’ll do: Develop high-performance, large-data research platforms; work in small teams; ship systems that move to production quickly.
