Overview

HRT Algorithm Developers research and implement automated trading strategies. Summer 2027 interns rotate across high- and mid-frequency trading teams and machine learning teams, working with full-time mentors to model and predict market behavior and ship software that improves strategies.

Expect to use HRT’s proprietary Python/C++ stack plus third-party tools for research; apply ML and time-series methods on large datasets; run simulations on HRT’s compute cluster; build predictive models from market and non-market data; and join Tech Talks, trading games, mentorship, and social events. Key Requirements

• Eligibility: Full-time undergrad or master’s student in math, physics, CS, statistics, or a related quantitative program.
• Skills: Python programming required; C++ desired for low-latency interest; statistical analysis / numerical programming / ML in Python (Pandas/NumPy), R, and/or MATLAB; strong communication; passion for quantitative models applied to real problems.
• Mindset: Quantitatively driven, practically minded programmer/scientist/mathematician excited by hard trading-research problems.
