Overview :

IISER Mohali is inviting applications for a temporary post of Junior (first two years)/Senior (third year) Research Fellowship for the ISRO-sponsored project in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Interested candidates can apply.

 

 

 

Duration:

 Initially one year (extendable to 2 additional years after progress review)

 

 

 

Qualifications:

• M.Sc./M.Tech in Atmospheric Science/Meteorology/Climate Science/ Geophysics/Oceanography/Hydrometeorology/Computer Engineering/Physics or any disciplines related to Environmental Science from a recognized University/Institution with minimum first class or equivalent CGPA.
• Applicants should also have qualified one of the following: CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test, including NET-Lectureship and/or GATE/JAM/ or equivalent.

 

 

 

 

Experience Required :

• Prior research experience in WRF modeling (WRF) and data assimilation is desired. Familiarity with the analysis of data sets from climate models would be a big plus.
• Knowledge of appropriate programming languages such as FORTRAN, NCL, Python, R, and shell scripting.

 

 

 

Salary :

Rs 31000 + 16% HRA per month for the CSIR-UGC NET/GATE/equivalent qualified applicants. For others, as per the ISRO norms/guidelines.
