Overview
Qantas Engineering keeps Group aircraft (and Asia-Pacific customer fleets) safe, reliable, and efficient using state-of-the-art equipment. This Summer Internship places you on real business projects — including landmark programs like Project Sunrise — across teams such as Engines, Performance, or Fleet Management in Mainline or Regional (QantasLink), depending on project availability.
Nine Sydney and two Brisbane paid internships run for three months from late November 2026. You’ll work alongside seasoned engineers and build practical skills at one of the world’s best-known airline groups.
Key Requirements
- Availability: Late November 2026 start; full-time (5 days/week) for 3 months.
- Academics: Penultimate year; Credit average or above in CS, Software Engineering, Mechatronic, Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Work rights: Australian/NZ citizen or permanent resident at time of application.
- Highly regarded: Strong programming — Java, Python, HTML5, iOS mobile development, or Matlab (project-dependent).
- Traits: High analytical / lateral problem-solving; motivated and ambitious; strong communication and teamwork; comfortable presenting across levels; genuine interest in airline/aviation.
- Logistics: Non-Sydney/Brisbane applicants welcome but must relocate at own expense if successful.
