Overview

Lightspeed Studios advances game development through stories, gameplay, and technology. Lightspeed Tech Center is the R&D arm behind PUBG Mobile and other titles — engine, audio, QA, AI, next-gen games, and technical cooperation across the full lifecycle.

As a Game R&D Intern focused on Engine Research in Sydney, you’ll work with scientists on advanced techniques (geometry learning, remeshing/UV, physics-based animation, ML for graphics, motion planning, locomotion, real-time rendering) and build tools/pipelines so those technologies can be used in real game development.

Key Requirements

  • Coding: Strong skills in one of C++, Python, or TensorFlow/Torch.
  • Maths: Solid calculus, linear algebra, and basic numerical analysis.
  • Soft skills: Strong responsibility and communication.
  • Plus: Graduate student (Master’s or PhD); publications in computer graphics/vision, machine learning, or robotics; familiarity with game engines, graphics APIs, and GPU programming.
  • Scope: Research + develop advanced CG/ML techniques and production-facing tools for Lightspeed games.
