Overview
Lyft is hiring a Machine Learning Software Engineer Intern in Toronto for Summer 2027. You will help build the next-generation ML platform behind Marketplace, Mapping, Fraud, Growth, and more — training and shipping models on petabyte-scale data that touch millions of rides.
This is a production ML internship: design, train, and test models, convert research into pipelines, and partner with PMs and data scientists. Strong fit if you already ship Python ML workflows and want real impact on transportation systems.
Key Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science or related field at a university in Canada
- Graduation date between December 2027 and Summer 2028
- Available for Summer 2027 internship in Toronto
- Comfortable with ML libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, etc.)
- Strong Python (or similar OOP) skills; able to turn research papers into working code
- Practical end-to-end ML workflow experience; engineer mindset for production systems
