Overview
Société Générale's HF Risk Group in New York is hiring a Credit Analyst intern to support hedge fund and fund-of-funds credit risk work — from due diligence through portfolio monitoring and transaction structuring.
The role is designed to grow you toward senior-analyst level: attending manager due diligences, completing rating models and reports, managing client credit lines, and monitoring portfolio exceptions alongside legal, sales, and engineering teams.
Key Requirements
- Education: Degree from a Business/Engineering School or University in Finance.
- Experience: Prior experience in the financial industry; Investment Banking background appreciated; hedge fund analysis experience preferred.
- Core skills: Strong analytical and writing skills; financial analysis and financial statements; self-starter who works independently under tight deadlines.
- Domain knowledge: Hedge fund analysis; ISDA negotiation; derivatives trading; prime brokerage and/or margin guidelines; relevant industry associations.
- Technical: Extensive Excel; familiarity with databases and platforms; Bloomberg APIs, Access databases, and VBA; Python and/or VBA is a plus.
- Communication: Strong communication skills for due diligence meetings and cross-team coordination.
- Day-to-day: Due diligence reports, rating models, transaction structuring, credit line management, portfolio monitoring, and systems proficiency.
