Overview
Apple’s software engineers ship platforms and services from macOS, iOS, Siri, and Apple Services to iCloud, Apple Music, and internal enterprise tools. This undergrad internship posting seeks motivated engineering students with strength in back-end engineering, Core OS, web development, and/or iOS/macOS app development.
Depending on placement, you may help build features for products users love (Siri, Music, iCloud, Maps), work on integrated OS experiences, UX/UI and web portals, iOS/web tooling, IS&T business infrastructure (e.g. Apple Store experiences), or Information Security protecting Apple, employee, and customer data.
Key Requirements
- Minimum: Pursuing an undergraduate (BS/BA) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Design, Information Security, or related fields.
- Enrollment: After the internship you must return to school to continue your education, or the internship must be the last requirement for graduation.
- Preferred: Strong OOP + data structures/algorithms; proficiency in one or more of Java, C/C++, PHP, Python, Ruby, Unix, MySQL, Clojure, Scala, JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, Swift.
- Preferred (area-dependent): Data modeling/MapReduce; distributed stack (HDFS, Spark, Go, Hadoop, Mongo, Pig, Hive); web frameworks (AngularJS, NodeJS, SproutCore); iOS/macOS in Swift/Xcode/Objective-C; client-server API design; embedded/RTOS fundamentals; excellent debugging and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
