Overview

ByteDance is hiring a Software Engineer Intern on the Developer Infrastructure team for Summer 2026 in San Jose — building the internal development services that enable engineers to ship high-quality features across TikTok, Ads, Shopping, and other products at global scale.

You'll work on Cloud IDE, intelligent unit test generation, code/build systems, CI/CD pipelines, microservice management, and staging environments that isolate internal traffic from production — using Kubernetes, RPC, databases, message queues, Kafka, HDFS, and monitoring/alert systems.

Key Requirements & Critical Rules

• Degree: Currently pursuing Undergraduate or Master's in CS, CE, Software Development, or related field.
• Commitment: Able to work for 12 weeks in Summer 2026 — state start and end dates clearly on resume.
• Start windows: May 11, May 18, May 26, June 8, or June 22, 2026.
• Languages: Experience with Android/Java, Objective-C, Python, or Golang.
• Infra experience: One or more of cloud (public/private), backend architecture, storage, databases, CI/CD, build infrastructure, or big data.
• Work scope: Dev infra (Cloud IDE, repo/code management, CI/CD), intelligent data platforms, TikTok/Ads/Shopping staging environments, monitoring and alerting.
• Application limit: Max 2 ByteDance positions globally — apply early; rolling review; online technical assessment after resume screen.
• Preferred: Full-stack development experience; strong strategic thinking and collaboration.
