Overview
Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America (MBRDNA) is hiring a Software Developer Intern in San Jose to build cloud-native backend services at the intersection of automotive technology and software innovation. You'll work alongside senior engineers on scalable microservices in Go, containerized with Docker and Kubernetes, backed by PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
MBRDNA designs the digital ecosystems around Mercedes-Benz vehicles — intelligent systems, human-machine interfaces, and connected-car platforms. This is hands-on engineering with code reviews, sprint planning, and meaningful contributions from day one.
Key Requirements & Critical Rules
- Education: Senior or graduate student in CS or related field preferred; high school diploma required.
- Experience: Prior internship or work experience in a software development role.
- Go: Proficiency in Go programming is required.
- Infra: Experience with Docker and Kubernetes; familiarity with relational and non-relational databases.
- Work scope: Design, develop, and deploy scalable backend microservices; participate in code reviews and sprint planning.
- Timeline: Internship may start any point during summer from July 6 with at least a 3-month commitment.
- Compensation: $28/hour (undergrad) or $32/hour (graduate students).
- Preferred: Open-source contributions, personal side projects, or a strong GitHub portfolio.
