Overview

Notion is hiring Software Engineer Interns for Fall 2026 in San Francisco — part of the company's first engineering internship class. You'll build and ship AI-native projects that drive real impact for millions of Notion users, paired with a mentor and working across the full stack on performant, reliable, and secure product capabilities.

Notion is the collaborative AI workspace where teams and agents think together — knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools in one place. This role focuses on earning user trust through craft, while pushing an AI-first product forward.

Key Requirements & Critical Rules

  • On-site: Must work from Notion's San Francisco office for the full internship.
  • Program dates: September 14 – December 4, 2026 (12 weeks; flexible to fall schedule).
  • Degree: Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in CS, engineering, or related field; graduate before Summer 2027.
  • Experience: Previous internship experience required.
  • Languages: Working toward proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, or Python.
  • AI focus: Built or prototyped features with AI technologies (LLMs, embeddings, ML); intellectually curious about AI as a collaborator.
  • Work scope: Full-stack development — web services, databases, applications, tools; design AI-native product capabilities; write clean, secure, tested, documented code.
  • Compensation: 57 USD/hr (Bachelor's) or 61 USD/hr (Master's) in San Francisco.
  • Preferred: TypeScript, React, Python expertise; strong communication, user empathy, and cross-functional collaboration.
