Overview
PDT Partners is a quantitative investment manager seeking engineering students for a 10-week Software Engineering internship. Interns work closely with senior developers on individual projects, get hands-on personalized mentorship, and join intern and firm-wide social events.
Software engineers at PDT build and maintain technology across the trading life cycle. Interns design, develop, debug, and test components for large-scale financial data, real-time events, and batch processing — often on open-ended problems where creativity and new technologies matter. Projects may touch trading tech contributions, infrastructure management tooling, and large-scale dataset maintenance, with emphasis on correctness, maintainability, and efficiency (data structures, algorithms, parallelization).
Key Requirements
- Eligibility: Current Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD student in a rigorous technical field (e.g. Computer Science, Computer Engineering); graduating Fall 2027 or later; eligible for full-time roles starting 2028 or 2029.
- Skills: Strong programming with deep data structures & algorithms; excellent academic background from a rigorous CS/engineering program.
