Overview
Stripe’s internship centers on a real, customer-urgent project that touches many parts of the stack — and you ship it. Recent examples include rebuilding a statistics aggregation service, new service discovery systems, and user-facing Checkout error-message improvements. Each intern has a dedicated intern manager; every project sits on the team roadmap and directly advances Stripe’s mission.
You’ll write production software with meaningful impact, give/receive feedback via code reviews and design discussions, collaborate cross-functionally, and learn unfamiliar systems with mentors and subject-matter experts while communicating status clearly.
Key Requirements
- Minimum: Strong CS fundamentals via Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in CS, math, or related; programming familiarity via side projects or classwork; prior internship or multi-person project experience (incl. open source) with mentor/peer feedback; ability to learn unfamiliar systems independently and with mentors.
- Preferred: ≥2 years university education (or equivalent); specialized depth plus general systems intuition (e.g. frontend + how services handle HTTP); high-quality PRs with test coverage; multi-language / new-codebase comfort; clear written explanations for stakeholders.
- Location: Bengaluru office — Delivery Center expectation is typically full-time in office.
