Overview
TikTok LIVE Revenue engineering builds the gifting and revenue ecosystem — innovative, secure, and intuitive for users and streamers at massive scale. As a Backend Engineer Intern in Sydney (2026 start), you’ll help plan and lead large-scale technical foundations for early products, develop robust systems serving ~1 billion users, contribute to engineering strategy/tooling/culture, and apply cutting-edge domain knowledge into products.
Key Requirements
- Education: Currently studying; final year with background in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline (BS/MS).
- Skills: Proficient in at least one of Go, Python, Java, C++, PHP; solid computer architecture, data structures, and algorithms; strong team communication and collaboration.
- Preferred: Debug large/complex codebases; robust maintainable code + clear docs; deliver quality on tight schedules; livestream knowledge a plus (not required).
- Impact: Build solutions that affect millions of users and live streamers; contribute to iterative scale of revenue features.
