Aptitude & OA Patterns

Many companies gate interviews behind an online assessment mixing aptitude, logical reasoning, and 1-2 coding problems under time pressure. Speed and pattern-recognition — not deep theory — clear this round.

Key concepts

  • Quant: percentages, ratios, time-speed-distance, permutations/combinations, probability.
  • Logical: series, blood relations, coding-decoding, syllogisms.
  • Coding OAs: usually 2 problems (easy + medium) in 60-90 minutes — manage time.
  • Read all questions first; bank the easy points before the hard problem.

Questions that get asked

  • Solve a time-speed-distance / work-rate word problem.
  • Complete the number or letter series.
  • Probability of an event in a simple setup.
  • A medium array/string coding problem under a timer.
Tip

Practice timed sets — OAs are as much about speed and nerves as correctness. Know when to skip and return.

Common mistake

Sinking all your time into the hard coding problem and leaving easy aptitude points unclaimed.
