NIT Puducherry | Workshop on Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Inverter Design and MPPT Implementation, Apply by 28th February 2024!

Overview:

Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, NIT Puducherry is inviting applications for a Workshop on Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Inverter Design and MPPT Implementation. Interested ones can apply. This workshop outlines an understanding of the operation and design of grid-connected photovoltaic inverters and their potential application areas.

Objectives:

  • This workshop tends to pose the research challenges in interfacing inverters to the electric grid.

  • This workshop also covers various control approaches for grid-connected photovoltaic (GCPV) inverters to improve power quality as well as enhanced power extraction.

  • Further, the modeling-photovoltaic systems, inverters, and implementation of maximum power point tracking algorithms in grid-connected systems are also focused.

  • The course participants will learn these topics through lectures and hands-on training that emphasize their knowledge of the design of GCPV inverters and their control techniques.

Topics to be covered:

Contents of the workshop are given below but are not limited to:

  • Renewable energy grid integration and converter control techniques

  • Power quality enhancement techniques

  • Multilevel inverters and their application in a grid-connected system

  • Grid synchronization and control

  • Overview of MPPT algorithms and their implementation

  • Power converters for renewable energy applications

  • Modeling and controller design of grid-connected inverter

  • Datasheet interpretation of power electronic switches

  • Design and analysis of power converters using high-speed simulation software

  • Implementation and controller design of grid-connected inverters

  • Implementation of MPPT algorithm in grid-connected PV system

  • Familiarisation of test equipment for grid-connected systems

  • Hardware testing
