Google Developer Student Club Leads are passionate leaders at their universities who are dedicated to helping their peers learn and connect. Leads are undergraduate or graduate university students pursuing various degrees, yet have a foundational knowledge of software development concepts.
Google collaborates with Leads and supports them as they start and grow their on-campus communities.
What does a Lead do?
Start or grow a club
Work with your university to start a student club. Create a core team and select a faculty advisor to support it.
Host workshops
Grow student knowledge of developer products and platforms through hands-on workshops and events.
Build projects
Identify local partners to work with and lead project-building activities.

Criteria:

Have a minimum of one year left until graduation

Enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate program at a college or university

Commit to the program for one year

Passionate about creating an impact in the community

Technical understanding of computer programming and/or software engineering

Have experience with event planning or leading a team

Have a connection to the local developer community
Lead Responsibilities:
- Host an event ideally once a month, or a total of 4 events for the year
- Report activities on the event platform regularly
- Assemble a core team to support and organize events and workshops
- Participate in program campaigns and events
- Meet with Regional Lead and Community Manager for guidance
- Adhere to the Community Organizer Code of Conduct
How to become a Lead:
- Check if there's a current Google Developer Student Club on your campus to determine if you'll start or grow a club. We encourage you to participate or help organize an event to gain practical experience with an existing club near you!
