Overview:
IIT Jammu is inviting applications for the JRF Position. Interested ones can apply. Applications are invited from the interested candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work on the funded research project titled “Experimental and numerical investigation of anisotropic mechanical behavior of fabric and fiber reinforced composites in biaxial stress space” sanctioned by Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), India.

Mechanical testing, Design of fixtures, Numerical analysis using commercial tools, Composite fabrication, and Machine design.

Duration:
Initially for 1 year, which may be extended up to the duration of the project based on satisfactory performance.
Salary:
INR 31,000/- + HRA as applicable per month
Essential Qualification and Criteria:

ME/M. Tech in Mechanical/Production/Manufacturing/Design/Materials/Metallurgy/ or Aerospace Engineering, selected through National Eligibility Exams (GATE) or National-level examinations conducted by the Central Govt. Departments and their agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, etc

Candidates having knowledge and experience in mechanical testing, design of fixtures, numerical analysis using Ansys/Abaqus, composite fabrication, and machine design, are preferable.

Merely possessing the prescribed qualification does not ensure that the candidate will be called for an Interview. The candidates may be shortlisted based on merit and need for the project.

Shortlisted candidates must present themselves for the interview on the interview date with an updated CV and original and attested photocopies of mark sheets/certificates supporting their academic qualifications. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview. The time of the interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates by e-mail. The interview will be held in online mode.
