Department of Civil Engineering, NIT Manipur is inviting applications for Interviews for the Selection of Project Staff. Interested ones can apply. Applications are invited for filling up the following positions for the above-sponsored research project under the focal of Dr. Ngangbam Romeji, Associate Professor.
Project Title:
Sedimentation Budgeting and Modelling for Rivers (Thoubal River) in Manipur under National Hydrology Project.

Essential for JRF:
M.Tech/M.Sc or equivalent PG degree (rs Class) in a professional discipline: Water Resources/ Hydraulic Engg/Hydrology/ Soil & Water Conservation Engg with relevant B.Tech/B.E degree (1st Class).
Job Profile/Requirements for JRF:
-
Hydrographic field investigations & surveys, Sediment sampling, etc.

Hydraulic & Sediment Flow Modelling.
-
Remote Sensing & GlS, applications.
-
River Water Quality Analysis, etc.
Desirable experience for JRF:
-
Candidates with working knowledge in the above job requirements; hands-on skills in HEC-RAS 1D/2D, MIKE-21C, hydraulic models, working knowledge in remote sensing & GIS (ArcGIS, ERDAS Imagine, ENVI, QGIS), etc.

Selected through a process described through any one of the following:

Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests: GATE, CSIR-UGC, NET, SLET, etc.

The selection process through National Level Examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, ISRO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISC, IISER, etc.
Duration for JRF:
1 year (extendable to 2 yrs) or till the termination of the project, whichever, is earlier
Emoluments for JRF:
Rs 30,000/- (consolidated) per month
Essential for PA:
B.Tech/B.E in Civil/Soil & Water Conservation Engg (1st Class) (or) M.Sc or equivalent PG degree in a professional discipline with a major in Water Resources/ Environmental Sc/Earth Sc/Remote Sensing & GIS (1st Class).
Job Profile/Requirements for PA:

Hydrographic surveys using DGPS-RTK, GPS, Flow probes, and surveys.

Sediment sampling at river GD sites (using USDH-48 sampler, etc)
-
Data Monitoring & Assembly as collected above + Replenishment pits, etc
-
Water Quality parameter analysis (pH, TDS, TSS, organic content, etc)
Desirable/Experience for PA:
Candidates with experience working in the above job requirements; hydraulic modeling, hands-on in the use of DGPS, GPS, Water Quality lab testing, etc
Duration for PA:
1 year (extendable to 2 yrs) or till the termination of the project, whichever is earlier.
Emoluments for PA:
Rs 25,000/- (consolidated) per month
