Overview:
NIT Raipur is inviting applications for the Post of JRF in the Department of Applied Geology. Interested ones can apply. Applications are invited for the following assignment in a purely time-bound project undertaken in the Department of Applied Geology of the National Institute of Technology, Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
Name of the Research Project:
Lunar surface mineralogical analysis using Imaging Infra-red Spectrometer (IIRS) data
Name and Number of Posts:
Junior Research Fellow (JRF), One (01)
Duration of the Project:
2.1 Years
Initially, the position is for one year likely to be extended for three years based on evaluation or co-terminus with the project.
Consolidated Monthly Compensation:
INR 31,000 + HRA for two years and 35,000 + HRA for the third year
Essential Qualifications:
Post Graduate Degree in Geology, Applied Geology, Geo-informatics, OR Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course selected through a process described through any one of the following :

Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests - CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant professorship) and GATE.

The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, etc
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience in Hyperspectral remote sensing/python/IDL/Matlab etc.
Note: Selected JRF candidates will be encouraged to register for the Ph.D. in the Department of Applied Geology, NIT Raipur as per the NITRR norms.

Selected candidates will be called for an interview on 1st March 2024, 03.00 PM onwards.

The mode of the Interview would be Hybrid (online/offline) based upon the request of the candidate.

Candidates should bring all the original documents for the interview to the Department of Applied Geology, NIT Raipur. Application for JRF should have the title “ISRO (DOS)” on the application form.
Terms and conditions:

The recruitment of the JRF is for one year and may be extended for three years on the performance.

The JRF post is purely temporary, the candidate shall not claim regular appointment at this Institute, as the post is co-terminus with the project.

The JRF will not be entitled to any regular leave, but are allowed to have CL and RH as per the NITRR rules.

The JRF is a full-time worker and is required to adhere to the administrative, financial, and disciplinary regulations of the NITRR, hence regular attendance of the JRF will be maintained.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Only the candidates meeting essential qualifications would be interviewed.
