Materials Synthesis and Characterization Techniques

ABOUT:

Department of Physics, National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand is organizing an Online Short Term Course(STC) on Materials Synthesis and Characterization Techniques from 7th to 11th September 2020.

The STC will focus on providing in-depth knowledge of Advanced Materials, Solar cells, Spintronics, thin films: their fundamental characteristics, synthesis, characterization, and applications in the advancement of Science and Technology in different domains. The STC activities will provide an insight into various synthesis and characterization techniques being used worldwide in the area of the Material Science and Engineering domain. This will also provide a platform for the participants to interact with the leading scientists and technologists and benefit from their vast experience in the area. This course will also be very useful for Faculty members, Ph.D. students, Research Scientists, and UG/PG students who are working/aspiring to work in the leading area of Material Science and Engineering (Solar cells, Spintronics, nanotechnology, thin films, etc.).

  •  X-ray diffraction and applications
  •  Ferroelectrics and applications
  •  Solar Photovoltaic: A journey from Silicon to Perovskites
  •  Topological insulators & applications Tailoring magnetic properties of thin-film nanostructures by ion bombardment
  • Soft X-ray absorption and magnetic circular dichroism studies at Indus-2 synchrotron radiation source
