Overview:
- Indian Institute of Technology Mandi invites applications for admission to Mechanical Engineering areas in Ph.D. / MS (by Research) programs for the semester commencing in August 2021.
Ph.D.
1. Mechanical Design:
- B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering + M. Tech in Machine Design / CAD / CAE/ Structural Engineering / Aerospace/ Applied Mechanics / Biomedical or related areas
- Candidate must have qualified GATE in related area at least once in an academic career.
2. Fluid Thermal:
- B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- M. Tech in Fluid/Thermal Science Engineering or related areas + Candidate must have qualified GATE in a related area at least once in an academic career.
3. Manufacturing:
- B. Tech in Mechanical / Production / Packaging technology / Pulp and Paper Technology / Chemical Engineering
- M. Tech in Mechanical / Production / Mechatronics / Packaging Technology / Pulp and Paper Technology / Welding / Machining or related areas
- Candidate must have qualified GATE in a related area at least once in an academic career.
4. Robotics
- B.Tech in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electrical / Computer Science Engineering.
- M.Tech/MS in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electrical / Computer Science Engineering.
- Candidate must have qualified GATE in a related area at least once in an academic career.
M.S. (by Research) Programs
1. Mechanical Design:
- B. Tech in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering
- Valid GATE score
2. Fluid Thermal:
- B. Tech in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering
- Valid GATE score
3. Manufacturing:
- B. Tech in Mechanical /Production / Mechatronics / Packaging Technology / Pulp and Paper Technology
- Valid GATE score.
4. Robotics:
- B. Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Computer Science Engineering
- Valid GATE score.
Important Points:
- Valid GATE score is not compulsory for Ph.D. (for candidates applying with M. Tech qualification). In addition, the candidates must have a qualified GATE exam once in their academic career.
- Valid GATE / JRF / NET score is compulsory for Ph.D. (applying with B. Tech).
- If you have your grade in CGPA/CPI, represent your CGPA/CPI out of 10.
- Candidates interested in a part-time Ph.D. can apply through the online portal.
- The eligibility criteria mentioned above are minimum and the shortlisting committee(s) may use higher cut-off levels for shortlisting.
