NIAS-SERB: Workshop on Algorithms In The Indic Tradition, Apply by May 31, 2021
Overview:
- An online workshop on the above theme shall be conducted by NIA under the Mathematics Heritage Programme, with support from SERB.
- The workshop is the first of its kind and will focus on making ancient Indic algorithms and methods available to modern computer science, data science and mathematics students.
Date of Workshop:
- 4th-6th June - 10th---13th, 2021
Course Content:
Lectures and tutorials will be of 2 hours duration and will be conducted online on Friday (2 PM IST) and Saturday and Sunday (10 AM IST).
- Cryptography
- Combinatorics
- Linguistics
- Kolam geometry
Who can Participate:
- Research scholars
- Undergraduate and Postgraduate students/Faculty members
- Scientists from industry and research Institutes.

Registration Cost:
- Registration fee for participants from other institutes is Rs. 250/- (including 18% GST)
Important Points:
- There is no fee for participation, as the workshop is sponsored by SERB/ DST, Government of India under SERB Karyashala.
- A certificate shall be issued to participants based on attendance and completion of the required number of assignments.
- Applications must be received by 31 May 2021.
