Department of Basic and Applied Science of National Institute of Technology, Arunachal Pradesh is organizing a Faculty Development Program on Computational Biology and Algorithms under thrust area Computational Science and Biology Sponsored by AICTE Training And Learning (ATAL) Academy. This workshop will be conducted from October 05, 2020 to October 09, 2020.
The workshop will introduce the participants to the following topics at an Introductory level :
- Algorithms and Applications Introduction,
- DNA sequence analysis,
- DNA Databases - Protein structure and function - Protein sequence databases, sequence alignment - Global and local alignment - Multiple sequence alignment - Protein sequence analysis- Protein secondary structures - Deep learning tools in sequence analysis.
- Computational Biology Development and applications of coarse-grained (CG) methods for biomolecules and mechanistic study of large biomolecular systems - Modeling of biomolecular recognition - Free energy simulations - Modeling host-pathogen interactions - High-end computation for generated big data
As the field is highly interdisciplinary and holds the potential for high growth, the workshop is open to all the participants who are interested in Genome Computations, Bioinformatics, Applications of Mathematics in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology.

All sessions to be conducted through online mode for which the link would be sent to the participants before the beginning of each session.
The certificates shall be issued to those participants who have attended the program with a minimum of 80 percent attendance and scored a minimum of 60 percent marks in the test.
