An online FDP is conducted by NIT Warangal, from 4-9 March 2021 on EFFECTIVE TEACHING AND LEARNING OF MODERN DRUG DISCOVERY PROCESS. The components of drug design and discovery contribute to the pharmacy student’s foundational knowledge base and will have a tremendous impact in advancing the professional leadership in the pharmaceutical and health care sectors
Objectives:
- To enhance the understanding of the process of making a molecule from laboratory to market
- To empower the participants to take the contemporary topics of medicinal chemistry and sub-subjects to the class room

- Target scouting (Identifying the therapeutic area) for the drug discovery programs
- Applications of basic concepts of medicinal chemistry for drug discovery
- Importance of Organic Chemistry (for the Lead discovery)
- Importance of Organic Chemistry (Process Development and Impurity Profiling)
- Modern approaches of pharmacology for the drug development
- Modern approaches of pharmaceutics in drug discovery
- Natural products based drug discovery
- Computational Chemistry and Drug Discovery
- Regulatory affairs, Pharmacovigilance, and importance of intellectual property in drug industry
- Effective use and searching techniques of literature (search engines and data bases)
